Cholinesterase inhibitors, commonly called acetylcholinesterase inhibitors, is abbreviated AChEI. They are chemicals which keep the cholinesterase enzyme from breaking down acetylcholine, which increases the level and how long the neurotrasmitter acetylcholine is active.
