Decongestants are medications used to relieve nasal congestion. Most decongestants act by enhancing norepinephrine and epinephrine (noradrenaline and adrenaline, respectively) or adrenergic activity by vasoconstriction of the nasal blood vessels and the sinuses so that swelling is reduced.
