Mary Stuart was only six days old when her father, King James V, died. His only legitimate child, she was crowned when she was nine months. Her tumultuous reign included being widowed at the 17, married unhappily to her first cousin, Henry who was found strangled to death, imprisonment. She was forced to abdicate her throne to her son, James VI, when he was a year old. Later, she was imprisoned for 19 years before being beheaded for allegedly repeated plots to kill the Queen.
