American model Cindy Crawford, born February 20, 1966 in DeKalb, Illinois, was discovered by a newspaper photographer when she was 16, working in a corn field. She numbered among the supermodels in the 1980s and 1990s. She made the leap to films in 1987, and on television around the same time. She has posed for Playboy and was married to Richard Gere for four years before she married Rande Gerber, with whom she has two children, and they live in Malibu. She has a line of skincare products and is active in leukemia charities.
