Sir Elton Hercules John was born Reginald Kenneth Dwight on March 25, 1947 in Pinner, Middlesex, England. He began playing piano when he was 3 years old and began formal lessons at 7. He got his first job when he was 15, playing in a pub. In 2005, he married his partner, David Furnish, and they had a son, Zachary, who was borne by a surrogate mother in 2010. Their second son, Elijah was carried by the same woman in 2013. He admits to having suffered from bulimia. He has a part-time residence in Atlanta, Georgia.
