Born in Boston, Massachusetts on March 26, 1931, Leonard Nimoy was raised in an Orthodox Jewish home with parents who fled what is now Ukraine. He acted professionally since 1951, but became world famous in 1966 when the original Star Trek series debuted. He was a recovering alcoholic. He was married to actress Sandra Zober in 1954, and they had two children, Julie and Adam. He left her in 1987. He married actress Susan Bay in 1989, and they had a son, Aaron. He died at home of complications from COPD.
