Chuck Norris, whose birth name was Carlos Ray Norris, was born March 10, 1940 in Ryan, Oklahoma. His parents named him after his father's pastor, Carlos Berry. His parents divorced when he was 16, and he moved with his mother and brothers to Prairie Village, Kansas and then to Torrance, California. He claims he was not athletic as a child. He joined the military where he became interested in martial arts. He had chain of karate schools before he began acting. He has been married twice and has 5 children. He is a born-again Christian and has written several books about Christianity.
