Gwyneth Paltrow, daughter of the late film director and producer Bruce Paltrow and actress Blythe Danner, was born in Los Angeles on September 27, 1972. Her father's family immigrated from Poland and Belarus. She was raised in Santa Monica. She was engaged to Brad Pitt in 1997 when she called it off, saying she was not yet ready for marriage. She then dated Ben Affleck for 3 years. She married Chris Martin, of Coldplay, in December 2003, and they have two children. She says she suffered from postpartum depression after the birth of her son. She and Martin were divorced in 2015.
