John Travolta was born in Englewood, New Jersey on February 18, 1954. He was raised Roman Catholic but left the church to join Scientology in 1975. He became world famous as Vinnie Barbarino in "Welcome Back Kotter" the same year. He married actress Kelly Preston in 1991, and they had three children. His 16 year old son Jett died while the family was on vacation in the Bahamas. John confirmed that Jett had Kawasaki disease, was autistic and commonly had seizures.
