The hamlet of Lake Louise, in the province of Alberta in Canada is situated in Banff National Park and is named in honor of the lake of that name which is nearby. The lake was named in honor of the Princess Louise Carolina Alberta, daughter of Queen Victoria and wife of the Governor General of Canada, Sir John Campbell, who was in office from 1878 to 1863.
