Parrsboro is a small town with a port on the Minas Basin, located in Cumberland County, Nova Scotia. The first European settlers were the Acadians in 1670, who settled at the western mouth of the Parrsboro Harbour, near Partridge Island. When they were expelled in 1755, they were replaced by settlers from New England, and the centre of settlement shifted from Partridge Island to the head of the harbour.
