Show Low is located on what is known as the Mogollon Rim in Navajo County, Arizona. According to tradition, the town was named after two of its early residents decided there wasn't room in the town for both of them, and agreed to let a game of poker determine who was to move. According to the story, one of the men said to the other, "If you can show low, you win." The other turned up a deuce of clubs and replied, "Show low it is." Show Low's main street is named "Deuce of Clubs" in remembrance.
