Williams is a small city in Coconino County, which is in the southwestern part of Arizona. Due to its location near the southern rim of Grand Canyon National Park, Williams is a popular tourist stop, with several motels and inns. It was named for William Sherley Williams, a mountain man known as "Old Bill" who trapped all over the western states but enjoyed retreating to the area that was later named after him.
