Blytheville is one of two county seats of Mississippi County, Arkansas. The city was founded and named for Henry Blythe, a Methodist clergyman, in 1879. Blytheville is located about sixty miles north of West Memphis, and home to Arkansas Northeastern College and Eaker Air Force Base.
