The California city of Beverly Hills is in the western portion of Los Angeles County and hosts some of the most pricey homes in the United States, many of which belong to movie stars and other celebrities. It was originally a ranch and was called Rancho Rodeo de las Aguas, but was later renamed San Antonio. In 1906, plots went up for sale, and it was named Beverly Hills, in honor of Beverly Farms in Massachusetts.
