Kingsburg, a town in Fresno County, California, was settled by Swedish immigrants in the early 1870s who first called it “Kings River Switch,” in honor of the railroad switch located there. It was later named “Kingsbury,” and then “Kingsburgh. In 1894, it became Kingsburg, and is known as that today.
