Marysville is the county seat of Yuba County in northern California. Theodore Cordua, one of the first settlers there, got his start on land he leased from John Sutter, of Sutter’s Mill. A ranch in town became a stopping point for riverboats traveling from Sacramento to San Francisco, carrying miners to the gold fields.
