The city of Mountain View, California, is in Santa Clara County. It takes its name from the panoramic views of the nearby Santa Cruz Mountains and began its life as a stop on the stagecoach line between San Jose and San Francisco. Until the late 1960s, it was an agricultural city, but it is now an integral part of Silicon Valley. Mountain View is also the home of Google Inc.
