The coastal town of Westport is situated in Fairfield County, Connecticut. Located on land pulled from the surrounding municipalities of Norwlk, Weston, and Fairfield, the town was officially incorporated in 1835. Compo Beach was the site of Tryon's Raid, which s also known as the British invasion of Danbury.
