Arcola, Illinois, is situated in Douglas County. It was founded when the Illinois Central Railroad came through the area in 1855. Arcola is the home of the famous Lawn Rangers precision lawn mower drill team as well as the unique Hippie Memorial, and is near the largest Old Order of Amish.
