The village of Marysville, in Madison County, Illinois. It was settled by German farmers in the first half of the 1840s. In 1900, C.W.F. Lange and his wife Mary bought a parcel of land and turned it into a farm, and it was the farm transactions which ultimately led to the incorporation of the town, which was named for Mrs. Lange.
