The focus of this category is on hotels, motels, bed and breakfasts, resorts, vacation rentals, RV parks, campgrounds, and other temporary guest lodging facilities in Big Bay, Michigan.
With a permanent population of fewer than three hundred people and rural location, Big Bay doesn't have much of anything in the way of industry, but its situation on Lake Superior and Lake Independence makes the community a destination for water-based outdoor activities. Surrounded by water and wilderness, the Big Bay region is an all-season recreational area, attracting people who come for the fishing opportunities, water-skiing, boating, and swimming, as well as biking, ATVs, and snowmobiling, for which there are several trails.
For these reasons, the economy of Big Bay is heavily service-oriented, and includes several hotels and resorts, available for nightly, weekly, monthly, or seasonal rental.
