Situated on West Chicago Road (US-12), just west of Coldwater in Southwest Michigan, the drive-in theater was built in the summer of 1984, and features a single, two-sided ticket booth, which provides for two entrance lanes into the two-screen theater, which can accommodate about nine hundred cars. Children’s Museum of Branch County
Opened during the Strawberry Festival of 2014, CMBC became a non-profit organization in early 2015, and currently offers more than twenty exhibits, including a fully-stocked art center, a literacy nook, human body exhibits, and several math and science exhibits, as well as a toddler room and an interactive city, where children can pretend to be working at various professions. Designed by Mortimer Smith, and established as Tibbits Opera House in 1882, Tibbits is the second-oldest operating theater in Michigan. In the 1930s, it was converted into a movie theater but closed in the 1950s. In 1962, the Tibbits Opera Foundation and Arts Council was formed to purchase and restore the building to its original architecture and purpose.
