Formed in a basement in 1985, the community performing arts group has been known as the Mid-Michigan Performing Arts Company and Howell Community Theater before taking its current name. Providing a wide variety of programs, including a stage performance of old-time radio shows, CTH also offers summer camps for area youth, giving them an opportunity to learn the basics of acting, dance, and vocal performance. Howell Area Historical Society
Formed in 1968 to locate a home for the DAR Museum pieces, which were housed in the Carnegie Library by the DAR Chapter, as the library needed the space. In 1971, the Society acquired the Depot, which had been vacant since passenger rail service ended in 1951, and now serves as a museum. The history of the railroad and depot is told, and an overview of the Society's 1888 Grand Trunk Caboose is included, along with its other displays, sponsored events, membership information, and schedules.

Howell Area Junior Baseball Association
HAJBA is an all-volunteer community organization that has served the Howell, Michigan area for more than sixty years, organizing youth T-ball, baseball, and softball programs for youth, aged five through seventeen, and currently including spring, fall, and travel programs. Funded through registration fees, fundraisers, and sponsorships, the organization is highlighted, and a calendar of games and events, its code of conduct, field locations, coaching information, and contacts are posted.

Presented by the Howell Area Parks and Recreation Authority, the annual event takes place in Downtown Howell, Michigan. Largely a food festival, the event showcases the Howell Melon, a cantaloupe hybrid made popular locally. Although activities may change from year to year, the event includes an election for Melon Prince and Princess, Mini Prince and Princess, and Sprout Prince and Princess, as well as musical performances, and Howell melons available for tasting and purchase.

Built in 1881, the 800-seat theater was an important part of Livingston County life until it was closed in 1924. Today, the first floor has been renovated and is used for a variety of public and private activities, while the remainder of the historic building remains as it was, for now, and the Livingston Arts Council offers free public tours of the theater throughout the year. Housed at Oak Glen Park in Howell, New Jersey, the non-profit sports organization facilitates recreational soccer and training programs for youth between the ages of four and eighteen. Organized in 1972, HSC is affiliated with the United States Soccer Federation, US Youth Soccer, and New Jersey Youth Soccer.
