Organized in 1948, the ACHS began in a log building near the courthouse, adding the Burlington Northern Depot in 1970, and its log building was expanded in 1980, then moved to a location near the depot building, then to the county fairgrounds. A second display building was constructed west of the depot, and the Northern Bell substation building was acquired by the organization.
