Avon, Minnesota is in Stearns County. The community was laid out in 1873, and named for the River Avon in England. The city was incorporated in 1900. There are three lakes within the city limits of Avon, including Upper Spunk, Middle Spunk, and Lower Spunk Lake. Immediately adjacent to the city are Ochotto Lake, Anna Lake, Linneman Lake, and Minnie Lake. The main route through the city are Interstate Highway 94, County Road 9, County Road 54, and County Road 155. Nearby communities include Albany, Collegeville, St. Anna, St. Joseph, and St. Wendel. St. Cloud, Minnesota is fifteen miles east of Avon.
