Named for Bertha Ristan, an early settler, Bertha was platted in 1891 and incorporated in 1897. The small city is in Todd County, Minnesota. US Highway 71 and Minnesota Highway 24 intersect in Bertha. Nearby communities include Almora, Bartlett, Deer Creek, Eagle Bend, Eagle Valley, Eastern, Germania, Hewitt, Lyman, Moran, Parkers Prairie, Stowe Prairie, Ward, Wrightstown, and Wykeham.
