The first fair in Steele County was held in October of 1860, but there is no record of fairs being held between that year and 1871, so it is likely that the Civil War and its aftermath interrupted the event. From 1871 to 1917, the fair was held at various sites in Owatonna until a fairgrounds were established on forty acres in 1917, then moved to its current site on seventy acres the following year. Driving directions, vendor information, and schedules are put forth.
