Located in southwestern Mississippi, Centreville is mostly located within Wilkinson County, but a portion of the town extends into Amite County. State Highway 33 runs northeast-southwest through southeastern Centreville, then Highway 33 intersects Highway 48 in northeastern Centreville, and continues north to Tatum and then Gloster, while Highway 48 runs east to Berwick and Beechwood. Southwest of of Centreville, Highway 33 intersects Highway 24, then continues southwest, reaching Whitaker, after which it runs south through Norwood. Highway 24 runs west of Centreville to Woodville. Baton Rouge, Louisiana is about forty-eight miles south of Centreville, while Alexandria, Louisiana is about one hundred and twenty miles to the west-northwest.
