Hatley is a small town in Monroe County, Mississippi. Originally, the town was known as Tubb’s Crossroads, as the land was owned by the Tubb family. Years later, a group of Seventh-Day Adentists moved into the area, taking control of the town government, and renaming the town for a minister in the church they had left. Hatley is just east of Amory, along Hatley Road. The smaller community of Parham is northeast of Hatley, along the same road, at that point called the Hatley Detroit Road. Other nearby communities include Becker, Greenwood Springs, Quincy, and Smithville. Tupelo, Mississippi is about thirty-four miles northwest, and Columbus, Mississippi is about forty-two miles south of Hatley.
