The village of Clyde, in Nodaway County, Missouri, was named for some Clydesdale horses that an early resident had purchased. With a population of fewer than one hundred, Clyde is home to the Benedictine Sisters of Perpetual Adoration convent, which houses more than five hundred relics of the saints, said to be the largest collection in the United States. Clyde is situated on Route AF, just east of US Highway 136, north of Conception and southwest of Alanthus Grove.
