The city of Gerald is located in Franklin County, Missouri. The town was platted in 1901, along the Rock Island Railroad line in the wester part of the county, and its name was taken from Fitzgerald, the name of an early settler. Gerald was incorporated as a village in 1907, and as a fourth-class city in 1947. Gerald is bordered on the south by the Red Oak and Bourbeuse River, and by Boeuff Creek on the north. US Highway 50 passes through town. The communities of Beaufort and Jeffriesburg are east of Gerald, and Drake is to the northwest.
