Huntsdale is a village in Boone County, Missouri. Settled in 1817, and named for William Bunch Hunt, an early landowner, Huntsdale was first incorporated in 1906 but its incorporation status fell into neglect, and the last council election was held in 1929. However, in 2003, the village was reincorporated, after which elections were held. With a population of just over thirty, the center of activity in Huntsdale is Katfish Katy’s, a general store along the Katy Trail that includes a campground and boat ramp. Huntsdale is situated along the eastern banks of the Missouri River, south of Interstate Highway 70, which is also US Highway 40. The larger city of Columbia is thirteen miles northeast.
