Spanning Camden and Miller counties, Lake Ozark, Missouri is named for the body of water on which it is situated. The lake is a 54,000 acre serpentine-shaped reservoir that was created by impounding the Osage River in central Missouri. The city of Lake Ozark is on the northeastern part of the lake, although a section of the lake extends to the northwest. Osage Beach and Lake of the Ozarks State Park is to the south, while Rocky Mount is to the northwest and Sunrise Beach is to the west.
