Today, the city of Olivette, Missouri is an inner-ring suburb of St. Louis, but the community was founded as an agricultural community in the mid-1800s, settled along the Bonhomme Road, an old Indian trail now known as Old Bonhomme, which turns into Olive Boulevard in Olivette. The city was incorporated in 1930, through the consolidation of the communities of Central, Tower Hill, Olive, and Stratmann, and originally named Central. The first brick schoolhouse in St. Louis County was constructed at the corner of Price and Old Bonhomme in Olivette, the current location of Logos High School. Olivette maintains its own municipal police and fire departments. Surrounding communities include Overland, Creve Coeur, Ladue, and University City.
