Sycamore Hills, Missouri is a village in St. Louis County, Missouri, and a suburb of the City of St. Louis, fifteen miles to the southeast. Surrounding communities include Bel-Ridge, Breckenridge Hills, Greendale, Overland, St. John, and Vinita Park. Incorporated as a village in 1941, Sycamore Hills is largely a residential community, in which nearly all of its homes are of brick and masonry construction, one-and-a-half to two stories, and with three or more bedrooms, and constructed between 1925 and 1950. In 2011, there were only two vacant building lots in town, and the only non-residential entity in the village was Calvary United Church of Christ. Law enforcement services are provided by the St. John Police Department. Its southeastern village limits are adjacent to the site of the historic Overland Park, where the Overland Trail began.
