The city of Vinita Park is a suburb of St. Louis, situated just east of Interstate Highway 170 and south of St. Charles Rock Road in central-eastern Missouri. Vinita Park got its name from Vinita Station, which was an electric railcar station at the intersection of Midland and Page. First laid out as a subdivision in 1905, Vinita Park was incorporated as a village in 1941, and as a fourth-class city in 1950. Neighboring communities include Bel-Nor, Hanley Hills, Greendale, Overland, St. John, and Sycamore Hills. St. Louis is fourteen miles southeast.
