The largest city not only in Scotts Bluff County but also in the Nebraska Panhandle. It is also the principal city of the state's seventh largest urban area, the Scottsbluff Micropolitan Statistical Area. The name is derived from a bluff which is now a National Park known as Scotts Bluff National Monument.
