Also known as South Summerlin, Summerlin South is an unincorporated but affluent residential community adjacent to the Rock Canyon National Conservation Area in Clark County, Nevada, at the western edge of the Las Vegas Valley. Summerlin South was so named because it was the southward extension of the master-planned community of Summerlin, a neighborhood of Las Vegas. The community is governed by the Summerlin South Community Association, a homeowners association for the entire development. Summerlin South includes the Ridges, a highly affluent gated community of mansions in the southwestern part of the town. Summerlin South is bounded by Charleston Boulevard on the north, Hualapai Way to the east, and the Red Rock National Conservation Area to the west. Future developments are expected to expand the community south to Maule Avenue, although it is currently developed to just below Russell Road.
