Barrington, in Strafford County, New Hampshire, was incorporated in 1722. In 1820, Strafford was set off from Barrington, reducing its land area by about half. The town includes rivers, brooks, waterfalls, and fourteen ponds. Consisting largely of woodland and farms, Barrington’s commercial center is the village of East Barrington, at the intersection of NH-9 and NH-125. Barrington is south-southwest of Rochester, and north-northwest of Dover and Durham.
