The town of Hooksett is in Merrimack County, along the Merrimack River, between Manchester and Concord, New Hampshire. The village of South Hooksett is located within the town limits. Hooksett was incorporated in 1822. The origin of the town’s name goes back to the early history of the state. Some of New Hampshire’s earliest records refer to Isle au Hooksett, and there were references to Isle au Hooksett Falls several years before the town was incorporated, as far back as 1719. Hooksett is south of Pembroke, south-southwest of Allenstown and Suncook, and southeast of Bow Bog.
