Clark Township is in southern Union County, New Jersey. Before the area was incorporated it was part of several early villages, including Rahway. Clark was incorporated as a township in 1864, from parts of Rahway, and named for Abraham Clark, a signer of the Declaration of Independence. The township is south of Garwood and Cranford, and west of Linden. The larger city of Elizabeth is northeast of Clark.
