East Brunswick, New Jersey is a township in Middlesex County, and a suburb of New York City, situated along the southern shores of the Raritan River, and running parallel to the South River on its easterly and southern side, with Farrington Lake on its west side. Originally a farming community, East Brunswick was settled in the mid-1660s, and incorporated as a township by the New Jersey Legislature as a township in 1860.
