The borough of Glassboro is in Gloucester County, New Jersey. Established in 1779 by Solomon Stanger, as Glass Works in the Woods,” the community has hosted several glass manufacturing companies throughout the years, Glassboro was originally incorporated as a township in 1878, becoming a borough in 1920, replacing the township. Glassboro is home ot Rowan University, which was formerly known as Glassboro State College.
