Hamilton Square is a census-designated place within Hamilton Township, in Mercer County, New Jersey. Hamilton Square is the site of the historic Colonial village of Nottingham, established in 1692, and named for Alexander Hamilton in a wave of anti-British sentiment during the War of 1812.
