Hazlet, New Jersey is a township in Monmouth County. When it was originally incorporated in 1848, the township was known as Raritan, but was renamed Hazlet in 1967, for Dr. John Hazlett, who had an estate in the township. The last drive-in movie theater in New Jersey was the Route 35 Drive-In in Hazlet, which closed in 1991, until the Delsea Drive-In reopened in 2004.
