An unincorporated area and census-designated place in Lawrence Township, Mercer County, New Jersey. It is also one of the state's first registered historic districts and was known as Main Street Historic District. It was originally incorporated as the Township of Maidenhead and was afterwards changed to Lawrence on January 24, 1816, in honor of naval hero Captain James Lawrence of the War of 1812.
