Incorporated as a borough in 1894, Netcong is in Morris County, New Jersey. The borough is situated on the shores of Lake Musconetcong, bordering Mount Olive Township, Roxbury Township, and Stanhope. Netcong was named for the river. Contributing greatly to its growth was, not only the river, but also the Delaware, Lackawanna and Western Railroad, which had its last stop in the heart of the borough.
