Incorporated in 1928, the full name of the township is Parsippany-Troy Hills Township. Generally known simply as Parsippany, the township is in Morris County, New Jersey. The area was not settled by Europeans until the early 1700s, due largely to poor relations with the Native Americans, a situation that changed with the British took control of the region in 1664.
