Pennsville is a township in Salem County, New Jersey. It was first formed in 1721 as Lower Penn’s Neck Township, when Penn’s Neck Township was subdivided. The new township was incorporated in 1798, as one of New Jersey’s initial townships. It as renamed Pennsville Township in 1965. The unincorporated village of Pennsville is located within the township. Pennsville is bordered by Carneys Point Township, Mannington Township, Salem, and Elsinboro Township, as well a portion of New Castle County, Delaware.
